Nottingham Forest sign David Carmo from Porto, loan defender to Olympiacos fc

Nottingham Forest has signed David Carmo from Porto on a five-year contract. The 25-year-old center-back, who represents Angola internationally, will immediately join Olympiakos on loan for the 2024-25 season. This move follows a similar trend, as Evangelos Marinakis, Forest’s owner, also owns the Greek club.

Carmo joined Porto from Braga in 2022 and has made 27 appearances for the club, including significant displays in the Champions League. During his time with Olympiakos last season, he won the Europa Conference League, demonstrating his ability to excel on European stages.

Carmo is Forest’s second signing of the summer to be loaned out to Olympiakos, following New Zealand midfielder Marko Stamenic from Red Star Belgrade. This strategic partnership between the clubs offers a unique potential for player development.
