The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has dismissed accusations by a section led by Dr Boniface Aniebonam and his colleagues that they had taken control of the party’s leadership.

In a statement signed by the National Legal Adviser, Robert Hon, and the National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, the NNPP leadership described the charges as “misleading propaganda” manufactured by impostors working for undisclosed paymasters to destabilize the party.

The party further disputed the faction’s alleged ruling acquired from the Abia State High Court, Uzuakoli, calling it a “pyrrhic victory” with no legal standing. The NNPP leadership claimed the judgment was obtained fraudulently, and it is currently being challenged in court.

The NNPP asserts that the court’s ruling was founded on inaccuracies, claiming that the faction in question failed to disclose significant information, such as an earlier decision from the Federal High Court in Abuja.
They stated that in the case (Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/2023), delivered by Justice Emeka Nwite on April 18, 2024, the court determined that the faction had no rights or privileges in the NNPP after being expelled from the party.

The NNPP also emphasized the authenticity of its official emblem, which features an academic cap and a book against a red-white-red background and is registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
