Nigerian artist Panshak Zamani, often known as Ice Prince, has spoken out about his childhood troubles as an orphan.
The ‘Aboki’ singer revealed that his life took a difficult turn when he lost his mother at the age of 21, having already lost his father at the age of 11.
In a recent episode of the ‘Listen’ podcast, Ice Prince revealed that he worked numerous menial jobs to support himself through school but did not attend university owing to a lack of N20,000.
He stated, “I do not have a mother or father. I am an only son. That’s extremely challenging. I was eleven years old when I lost my father. My mother died when I was about 21 or 22 years old. And I have a large family that depends on me.
“I have no uncle, aunty, godfather, or godmother to rely on. My life has revolved solely on God.
“I want people to look at my life and conclude that if I can succeed, no one can fail.
“I was the guy who stayed at home for at least three weeks each term due to school fees. I did not attend university due to the N20,000 fee. I had two weeks to pay the money, but I was unable to do it on time. That’s how I lost my admittance.
