2,106 NSCDC Officers Deployed as Katsina Gears Up for LG Polls

NSCDC Deploys 2,106 Personnel for Security Ahead of Katsina LG Elections.

The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized 2,106 personnel to maintain peace and safeguard critical infrastructure during Saturday’s local government elections.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu.

According to the statement, the deployment was announced by the State Commandant, Aminu Ahmad, on Monday, February 10, 2025, during an operational briefing at the Command Headquarters in Katsina.

Addressing senior officials, Ahmad reaffirmed the commitment of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to ensuring a secure environment for the elections. He emphasized the implementation of enhanced security measures, including intelligence gathering, community engagement, and strategic surveillance.

He directed area commanders, divisional officers, and special forces to coordinate patrols effectively to prevent disruptions.

Ahmad also stressed professionalism and synergy among security agencies, urging officers to conduct themselves with discipline while ensuring the safety of public infrastructure at all levels of government.

Additionally, undercover operatives have been stationed in key locations to monitor activities and provide intelligence to prevent potential threats.

The Command called on residents to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities to security agencies, assuring the public of a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
