APC Sweeps Katsina LG Elections, Wins All 34 Councils

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in all 34 local government areas of Katsina State in the February 15 local government elections, according to the results announced by the chairman of the Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KASIEC), Alhaji Lawal Alhassan Faskari.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda congratulated the newly elected chairmen and praised the peaceful and transparent electoral process, calling it a milestone in the state’s democratic journey.

“The conduct of the elections reflects the maturity of our democracy and the commitment of our people to peaceful political participation,” Radda said. “The absence of electoral violence and the impressive voter turnout demonstrate citizens’ dedication to democratic principles.”

He described the APC’s landslide victory as a testament to public confidence in the party’s governance, attributing the success to the administration’s investments in the people of Katsina.

The governor urged the new chairmen to align with the state’s Building Your Future agenda and replicate its development framework at the grassroots level. He emphasized the importance of sustaining the State Government Community Development Programme (CDP) and ensuring inclusive governance that benefits all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.

“I urge you to uphold the party’s reputation through transparent leadership, zero tolerance for corruption, and the effective utilization of local government autonomy,” Radda added.

He also expressed gratitude to the people of Katsina for their unwavering support of the APC, stating that their votes were a reflection of the positive impact the party has made in various communities.
