Katsina Joint Task Force Steps Up Security, Impounds 53 Vehicles

Katsina, February 15, 2025 (News Agency of Nigeria) The joint task force enforcing movement restrictions during the local government elections in Katsina has impounded 53 tricycles and motorcycles.

The Katsina State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Aliyu Ma’aji, confirmed the development to journalists on Saturday, stating that the measure was by directives to ensure a smooth and secure electoral process across all 34 local government areas of the state.

The Katsina State Police Command had earlier announced a restriction on individual and vehicular movement from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on election day.

Speaking on the enforcement, the command’s spokesman, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, emphasized that the restrictions were necessary to maintain law and order and safeguard voters during the polls.
