Katsina State Hosts Federal Ministry of Education for Early Childhood Education Awareness Campaign

The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MBASE) recently hosted the Federal Ministry of Education for an awareness campaign on Early Childhood Care, Development, and Education (ECCDE). The campaign aimed to highlight the importance of investing in early childhood education and brought together key stakeholders in the education sector at the MBASE Secretariat.

The event was attended by the Honorable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajia Zainab Musa Musawa; the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); religious and traditional leaders; and other key education stakeholders.

In her address, Hajia Zainab Musa Musawa emphasized the vital role of early childhood education in shaping cognitive, emotional, and social development. She reaffirmed the Katsina State Government’s commitment to strengthening foundational learning and ensuring that young children receive quality education.

Representing the Honorable Minister of Education, Mrs. Okonko K underscored the Federal Government’s dedication to improving ECCDE. She stressed the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to enhance early learning outcomes nationwide.

Discussions during the event focused on key interventions, funding strategies, teacher training, and infrastructure improvements necessary to enhance the quality of early childhood education in Katsina State.

The campaign reinforced the collective commitment of the government and stakeholders to advancing early childhood education, with resolutions centered on raising awareness, increasing investment, and enhancing relevant policies.
