The governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, voted on Saturday in the state’s ongoing local government area elections.
The governor was accredited before doing his civic duty after arriving at his polling place in Sagba/Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9 in Ede.
Despite strict security and close observation, a sizable number of voters cast ballots in the election, which is anticipated to elect new chairman and council members in the State’s 30 local government districts.
Governor Adeleke encouraged all eligible voters to peacefully use their right to vote at a press conference shortly after casting his ballot. He urged people to fully engage without fear or intimidation and underlined the value of local democracy.
The governor praised the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) for a job well done and said the election process went well. He encouraged everyone to cast a peaceful ballot since it was an important step in bolstering democracy in the country at the local level.
