Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has commended his players despite their narrow 1-0 loss to Katsina United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Ahmed Taofeek netted the decisive goal for Katsina United in stoppage time, extending 3SC’s winless run to five league matches.
Speaking after the match, Ogunbote attributed the loss to fatigue from a long journey from Ibadan to Katsina.
“It’s unfortunate that we conceded in the dying moments of the game. But I think the boys gave their best, considering the challenges we faced traveling here,” Ogunbote told the club’s media team.
“We arrived yesterday evening, so you could see the players were fatigued and couldn’t fully express themselves.”
The Oluyole Warriors will now shift focus to their next fixture against Akwa United.
