Governor Radda Applauds United Nigeria Airlines for Boosting Katsina’s Economy

United Nigeria Airlines has officially launched its Abuja-Katsina flight route, marking a significant milestone in air travel connectivity for Katsina State.

The inaugural flight departed from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 3:10 PM and touched down at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, by 4:00 PM. The historic arrival was met with enthusiasm as Governor Dikko Umar Radda and top Katsina State officials welcomed the airline’s maiden flight with jubilation.

Expressing his delight, Governor Radda commended the airline’s chairman, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, who is also a governorship aspirant in the upcoming APC primaries, for his role in enhancing Katsina’s economic landscape. He emphasized that the addition of United Nigeria Airlines to the route would further stimulate economic growth and business opportunities in the state.

“The commencement of daily flights signifies the growing demand and viability of this route. We initially started with a weekly flight, and now we have multiple airlines operating daily. This development provides more options for businesses and investors, making Katsina an even more attractive destination,” Radda stated.

Former Governor Bello Masari also lauded United Nigeria Airlines for stepping in to address the travel challenges faced by residents and businesses in Katsina. He urged the airline to ensure punctual departures and arrivals to build passenger confidence.

“We are grateful for this initiative, especially at a time when air travel from Katsina has been challenging. The airline’s commitment to reliability will encourage more people to use this service. We also look forward to expanded connectivity, both within Nigeria and beyond,” Masari said.

Representing the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, a party official extended congratulations to Governor Radda and the airline’s management for achieving this milestone.

“Transportation is key to economic development, especially in tourism and commerce. Katsina holds a strategic position in Nigeria’s growth, and this new route aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the official remarked.

He also praised Governor Radda’s leadership in attracting investment and fostering economic expansion, highlighting the presence of past and present state leaders as a testament to the unity and progress in Katsina.
