Supporters of popular Hausa musician Aliyu Mukhhar Alishow have expressed surprise and concern after failing to find his name on the list of the Dikko/Tinubu 2027 Campaign Council in Katsina State.
Following the initial release of the list, there were widespread reactions over the omission of several prominent individuals in the state who had contributed to the present administration. The list was subsequently subjected to a series of adjustments.
Speaking with a Nigerian Post correspondent on the matter, Alishow expressed surprise that his name was missing from the entertainment section of the campaign council, despite the popularity of his song Falle Biyu, which has received considerable acceptance among the public.
The musician said he believed his contributions to the administration should not have been overlooked, particularly given his longstanding involvement in supporting Governor Dikko Umaru Radda through music.
He added that he had been among the musicians supporting the Katsina State governor even before he assumed office in 2023. Alishow suggested that his omission might have resulted from an error during the compilation of the list, expressing concern that some individuals whose contributions were not comparable to his own had been included.
However, he stressed that he was not at loggerheads with anyone and did not believe that anybody had deliberately wronged him. He also wished success for the administrations of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from the state to the federal level.
Also contacted Kannywood director Murtala Haruna, an associate of Hassan Danja, who serves as an aide to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on entertainment matters, to find out whether there was any disagreement between Hassan Danja and Aliyu Alishow.
Haruna indicated that he did not believe there was any problem between the two musicians, adding that he would verify the matter if any disagreement existed.
However, as of the time of filing this report, he had not sent any further response or returned the phone call.
Meanwhile, Abubakar Henry, an associate of Alishow, said the musician had made significant contributions to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s political journey, even before the establishment of the current administration.
According to Henry, Alishow’s contributions were substantial, and excluding him from the campaign council’s entertainment list amounted to unfair treatment.
He questioned why individuals, including some opposition figures, had been included on the list while Alishow, whom he described as a major supporter of the governor, was left out.
Another associate, Abdull Yahooze, described Alishow as a patient and humble individual who was capable of handling situations that could otherwise cause him disappointment.
Yahooze acknowledged that he was certain Alishow would not be happy about his omission from the list. Nevertheless, he expressed confidence that the musician would continue to promote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umaru Radda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He maintained that nobody could change Alishow’s political stance, particularly his support for Governor Radda.
The omission has continued to raise questions among the musician’s supporters about the criteria used in selecting members of the entertainment team for the Dikko/Tinubu 2027 campaign in Katsina State.
