Journalist Francis Sardauna Donates ₦50,000 Ramadan Support to Feed the Less Privileged in Katsina

-

The Katsina State Correspondent of ThisDay Newspaper, Francis Sardauna, has donated the sum of ₦50,000 to provide food for the needy during the ongoing month of Ramadan.

Francis Sardauna, who is a Christian, is a member of a WhatsApp forum that comprises individuals from different religious backgrounds and various professionals.

Sources from Accuracy News Hausa reported that Francis Sardauna was motivated to make the donation after watching a video clip showing Ramadan support being distributed to Muslims.

The platform, created several years ago by the Publisher of Katsina Times, Malam Danjuma Katsina, has consistently supported the less privileged, particularly by providing food for breaking fast and assisting in securing the release of inmates detained due to debt, among other humanitarian efforts.

In a message sent to members of the forum, Danjuma Katsina commended Francis for the donation. He noted that after seeing the video that inspired him, Francis went further to produce a special report to encourage others to emulate the gesture.

After receiving the ₦50,000 donation provided by Francis Sardauna, the contribution was announced on the platform, clearly demonstrating the need for mutual support and cooperation among people of different faiths.

Those who reacted to the development described it as a strong example of unity, love, and peaceful coexistence in Katsina State, a state where Christians and Muslims continue to work together in carrying out humanitarian activities, especially during religious observances.

Sardauna’s donation highlights the important role journalists can play in community development and in encouraging support for the less privileged.
