The commissioner of sports and youth development Alh Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle has reaffirm the state government commitment to reward any athlete who attracts medals to the state.
Alh Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle gave the assurance while visiting the state contingents at the ongoing 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta’s capital.
Addressing the state athletes, the sports commissioner urged them to be excellent ambassadors for the state at the present youth games, noting that the state governor, Mal Dikko Umar Radda, is happy of their achievements thus far.
While applauding state athletes and authorities for the Weldon job, Aliyu Lawal Zakari restated the present administration’s resolve to continue nurturing fresh talent from the grassroots for them to achieve their dreams.
Aliyu Lawal Shargalle reiterated the governor Dikko Radda administration’s commitment to continuing to support state athletes by participating in all sports-related national events as part of the state government’s strategy for transforming sporting activities in the state.
The commissioner congratulated Aliyu Bara’u for winning the state gold medal in golf’s best gross game and urged other athletes to do the same in the numerous sports in which they compete.
He then donated two hundred and sixty thousand naira to the athletes as a morale booster.
