The Katsina State contingent has departed for Kaduna to participate in the North-West Zonal Elimination Games, ahead of the National Intermediate Games scheduled to take place in Lagos in 2027.
Katsina will compete against Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kebbi States in football, volleyball, hockey, and basketball.
Two teams from each sporting event are expected to qualify for the national competition.
The Executive Director of Sports at the Katsina State Sports Council, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Rawayau, bade farewell to the athletes at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on behalf of the state government.
He urged the athletes to remain disciplined, focused, and committed while demonstrating good sportsmanship and representing Katsina State with pride.
