The Katsina State Police Command has achieved a major success in its fight against crime during September 2025, arresting 168 suspects linked to 105 serious offenses across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, led the operations that resulted in the recovery of arms, ammunition, stolen property, and the rescue of several kidnap victims.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, disclosed this during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Katsina.
According to him, the arrests include 12 highway robbers, five suspected murderers, over 20 rapists, nine vandals, two arms dealers, and 14 drug traffickers, among others.
He added that the Command foiled several bandit attacks, neutralized five armed bandits, rescued more than 80 kidnapped victims, and recovered one submachine gun, two AK-47 rifles, and over 1,200 rounds of ammunition.
Other recovered items include five stolen vehicles, five motorcycles, illicit drugs, and vandalized electric cables.
DSP Abubakar credited the success to the commitment of officers under CP Bello Shehu’s leadership, with support from IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and thanked the Katsina State Government and residents for their cooperation.
He urged citizens to continue assisting the Police by reporting suspicious activities through nearby stations or emergency hotlines.
