Governor Dikko Radda Inaugurates Katsina State Council of Emir’s

Katsina State Governor has inaugurated the State Council of Emirs with the Emir of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir as the Chairman while his Daura counterpart Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar Co-Chairman.

In an inaugural address, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda said that the inauguration was in compliance with the powers vested on him as contained in the twenty twenty-five Emirate Law.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Government House Chambers attracted some traditional title holders and members of the business communities.

In an inaugural address, Governor Dikko Radda classified the composition of the membership to include, kingmakers, traditional title holders, Ulamas, members of the business community and youths.

According to him, all the king makers from Katsina and Daura emirate council were members.

They include Kaura, Durbi, Marusa, Galadima and Yandaka from Katsina Emirate, while from Daura attracted Kaura, Galadima, Limamin Juma’a, Dan Sauwai and Fada Babban Daura among members of the committee.

While identifying the Secretary to the Government of the State, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari as among other members of the Council, Governor Dikko Radda also named Alhaji Dahiru Mangal and Baba Buhari Walin Daura to represent business community while Ahmed Rufa’i Sardaunan Katsina and Ambassador Adamu Sa’idu Daura to represent traditional tittle holders in the council.

The Governor was also named Sheikh Nazir Kofar Baru Daura and Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan from the State Council of Ulamas while Abdul Aziz Abdul Aziz Malumfashi would represent youths.

He then announced the name of Wazirin Katsina Senator Ibrahim Idah as the Secretary of the Council while Dan Wairen Katsina Sada Salisu Ruma would serve as the Assistant Secretary of the State Council of Emirs.

According to him, the council has the mandate to advise the Governor on any matters including issues relating to Islamic and customary laws, cultural affairs and inter-communal related and chieftaincy matters.

This he said was in addition to maintenance of public order, peace and security within the state and any part whenever required to do so.

Governor Dikko Radda Radda said the council also owed it a duty to offer advice on anything affecting traditional institutions, culture and community development among others
