The Director General of KASEDA, Dr. Babangida Ruma, has stated that the agency is committed to developing young people who can compete in today’s modern economy, while also providing solutions to both local and global challenges, particularly in the areas of innovation and sustainable business development. He added that KASEDA is also focused on creating opportunities for access to funding through various means, enabling young people to become employers rather than job seekers.

According to a report obtained by Nigerian Post, he made this known while delivering a welcome address at an event focused on financial literacy, changing societal mindsets toward entrepreneurship, business management strategies, multi-channel marketing approaches, and innovation. The event was held at Al-Qalam University, Katsina, on Monday, April 6, 2026, and brought together students, young entrepreneurs, and political stakeholders.

Dr. Babangida Kabir Ruma, Director General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), expressed great joy and pride over the occasion, while extending his deep appreciation to all participants who attended the KASEDA event themed “Digital Academy Campus Connect” at Al-Qalam University, Katsina.

He noted that the day marked an important milestone in their collective efforts to build the future of Katsina State’s youth—not only through formal education but also by equipping them with digital skills and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs who can compete globally and benefit from the modern economy.

He also conveyed appreciation on behalf of the management and staff of KASEDA, as well as the special guest of honor, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe, who was represented by his Chief of Staff.

He emphasized that KASEDA has recorded significant achievements in business development, youth empowerment, and economic growth across Katsina State under the leadership of the State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON. He noted that the agency has remained focused on implementing impactful programs that directly benefit the people.

He further revealed that among the key achievements is the investment of ₦3.4 billion into KASEDA’s initiatives. Additionally, over 5,000 youths and women have been trained, while 394 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have received support.

Earlier, he expressed special appreciation to the management of Al-Qalam University for their cooperation, warm reception, and for providing a conducive environment for the successful hosting of the important event.
