Opposition leader and pro-democracy advocate, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has congratulated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the state governorship election held on August 15, 2026.
Kwankwaso described Adeleke as his friend and congratulated him on his victory in the election under the platform of the Accord Party.
According to a statement monitored by Nigerian Post, Kwankwaso commended the people of Osun State for coming out to exercise their democratic rights and express their choice through the ballot.
He said the outcome of the election had once again demonstrated the importance of the people’s power in choosing the leaders they want.
According to him, Adeleke’s victory serves as a reminder that when citizens continue to fulfil their civic responsibilities and make their voices heard, the will of the people must prevail.
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the election.
Kwankwaso urged all stakeholders in the electoral process to continue to uphold the principles of credible, peaceful and transparent elections.
He finally congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and the people of Osun State once again on their victory in the election.
