Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has revealed that he was 43 years old when he was first sworn in as Governor of Kano State in 1999.
Kwankwaso made the disclosure during an interview with journalists, where he reflected on his political journey and his time as governor.
He said he assumed office as Kano State Governor at the age of 43, marking the beginning of his first tenure in the state.
According to him, history is set to repeat itself as his son, Mustapha, is expected to be sworn in as Deputy Governor of Kano State at the same age.
Kwankwaso noted that his son would also be 43 years old at the time of his swearing-in as Deputy Governor, drawing a comparison between their political milestones.
The former governor first served as the Governor of Kano State from 1999 to 2003.
He later returned to the position in 2011 and served another four-year term, leaving office in 2015.
The statement by Kwankwaso was subsequently reported by media outlets, highlighting the age similarity between his own assumption of office and the reported political future of his son.
