Tinubu’s Reforms Have Benefited States in Many Ways— Governor Radda

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has said that the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have helped state governments implement major development projects and pay workers’ salaries and pensions without relying on loans.

Radda stated this on Sunday during the Tinubu/Dikko Assured 2027 Islamiyya Teachers’ Empowerment Programme, as well as the commissioning of a school and 45 solar-powered streetlights in Katsina State.

The governor said his administration had executed development projects worth more than N30 billion without obtaining loans, stressing that the state government currently does not rely on borrowing to finance its activities.

He explained that Katsina State previously depended on loans to meet its salary obligations, but the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, coupled with increased financial support to states, had helped improve the financial position of state governments.

Radda further said leadership should be assessed based on the projects delivered and the tangible results that citizens can see, rather than political rhetoric or unsubstantiated reports.

The governor commended the TDA initiative for its focus on grassroots development, particularly its efforts to support teachers in Islamiyya schools.

He also announced a grant of N10,000 for each of the 690 beneficiaries of the programme, amounting to N6.9 million, but said he would increase the total support to N7 million.
