Rotary Action Group Distributes Delivery Kits To Pregnant And Nursing Mothers In Katsina

In a significant step towards promoting maternal and child health, the Rotary Action Group for Peace, Katsina State Chapter, organized a medical outreach on July 22, 2025, in Shinkafi community under the Shinkafi District Head.

The outreach, themed “From Mother’s Arm to a Peaceful Nation” (Daga Jikin Uwa Zuwa Zaman Lafiyar Duniya), witnessed the free distribution of delivery kits, nursing materials, and mosquito nets to pregnant and breastfeeding women in the area.

Representing the traditional leadership, the District Head of Shinkafi and Emir Of Katsina’s representative, Alhaji Abdulrashid Aliyu Turare, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the organizing bodies. He lauded the initiative as a timely and humanitarian gesture that directly impacts the well-being of women and children in rural communities.

During the outreach, the women were sensitized on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, regular antenatal visits, and personal hygiene practices. The organizers emphasized that these practices are crucial for ensuring the health and survival of both mothers and their infants.

The program aligns with the Rotary group’s mission of promoting positive peace through community health interventions, especially among vulnerable populations.
