‎KATSINA TRAGEDY: Police Arrest Suspect Over Muder Of Nursing Mother And Baby, Manhunt Underway

-

‎A shocking case of murder has unsettled residents of Sheme village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, after a 30-year-old nursing mother and her 10-month-old baby were found killed, burnt and dumped inside a well.

‎The police have arrested one suspect, identified as Sahabi Rabi’u, 35, who is believed to have played a major role in the gruesome attack. His alleged accomplice is currently on the run.

‎According to police investigators, the crime is linked to a paternity dispute involving the suspects and the victim. Findings suggest that the suspects conspired to lure the woman and her baby to the outskirts of the village, where they were murdered before their bodies were set ablaze and disposed of in a well.

‎During questioning, Rabi’u reportedly confessed, naming his fleeing friend as a co-planner in the deadly act. The bodies of the victims have been recovered, and the suspect remains in custody as detectives intensify their probe.

‎The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, CP Bello Shehu, strongly condemned the killing, describing it as “barbaric and inhumane.” He vowed that the command would ensure justice is served, adding that efforts are underway to track down the second suspect.

‎Residents of the area have expressed shock over the incident, calling for swift justice and tighter security measures to prevent similar tragedies.

‎Police authorities are urging anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of the fleeing suspect to come forward, assuring the public that all information will be treated confidentially.

‎The investigation is ongoing. Further updates are expected as security operatives broaden their search and gather more details surrounding the incident.
