Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the shooting of one person and kidnapping of three others in Katsina metropolis.
This is contained in a statement issued by Police Public Relation Officer of the command DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu.
According the statement, the gunmen attacked the area around 03:00am on 26 of August 2025 located at Filin Canada quarters in Katsina metropolis.
It said, they shot a 25 year old local vigilante member called Abdullahi Muhammad, kidnapped a 33 year old household called Anas Ahmadu, his wife and his daughter called Jidda Anas before arrival of police operatives.
The statement said, on receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer of the area quickly rushed to the scene for restoring normalcy as investigation commenced with a view to track and arrest perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Meanwhile, Katsina State Commissioner of Police CP Bello Shehu in company of the command management team, Area Commander Metro, DPOs within the metro, as well as the command OC Anti-Kidnapping, visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment of the scene.
CP Bello Shehu said, additional personnel have been deployed to ensure prompt rescue of the victims and arrest of the perpetrators.
He called on members of the public to at all times report suspicious and criminal activities to the nearest police station or make use of the command’s emergency line for prompt and decisive action against all forms of criminal activities.
The Commissioner of Police called on anyone with useful information to assist the ongoing investigation.
