The Director-General of the Tinubu Dikko Assured 2027 (TDA 2027) support group, Umar Ahmad Zayyad, has said that the defeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State and across Nigeria in the 2027 general elections would pose a serious threat to the people, particularly by jeopardizing the completion of major development projects currently underway.
Speaking during a meeting with the group’s executives from the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Capital One Arena in Katsina, Zayyad stressed the need for members to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said the meeting was convened to motivate and strengthen members of the organization to work towards securing victory for Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in their respective re-election bids.
The event attracted prominent politicians, academics, business leaders, and political office holders from across Katsina State.
According to Zayyad, the success of the APC would also represent the success of the group’s members. He urged them to campaign in every community and neighborhood to canvass votes, warning that if the APC loses power, many ongoing development projects—particularly in Katsina State and across Nigeria—could remain uncompleted.
Also speaking at the event, the group’s Planning Secretary, PA Gambo Garba, described it as unfortunate that some APC members were reluctant to openly campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
He urged every APC member to confidently identify with the party and actively seek public support without fear, insisting that the APC administration has delivered significant achievements both at the federal level and in Katsina State.
In his remarks, Professor Mukhtar Al-Kaseem commended members of the TDA 2027 group for their commitment and dedication, noting the impressive turnout of representatives from all 34 local government areas of Katsina State.
He expressed confidence that members would embark on extensive grassroots campaigns to ensure the re-election of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
